about

Sacramento’s NMBRSTTN return with a second genre defying EP. Produced by Pat Hills (King Woman, Tera Melos, VRTRA, So Stressed) "Energy & Entropy" is the perfect storm that results from growing up on Depeche Mode, My Bloody Valentine and Refused.

Building upon the punk-influenced sound of their 2013 eponymous debut, "Energy & Entropy" channels a range of influences from "Black Sails In The Sunset" to "Disintegration." Refusing to create within the parameters of a specific scene or sound, NMBRSTTN have crafted a dynamic, sonic wash of sparkling guitar and keys accompanied by a murky, low-end heaviness, moving from punk, to shoegaze tinged goth-rock often within the span of a track. Sweeping and anthemic post-hardcore gives way to slowly building delay-heavy chords that beautifully descend into darkness as vocalist Ean Elliot Clevenger (Pipedown) shatters the tranquility with his message of disillusionment and agonizing loss.

Fearlessly accessible yet undeniably moody, "Energy & Entropy" establishes a new standard for hardgaze and post-hardcore alike.

Drawing from influences of the 1970’s to the current age of Gothic rock, dark wave, new wave, post-punk and shoegaze (from The Cure to Slowdive to Wreck and Reference), NMBRSTTN has began the process of building their own legacy. With this current lineup, NMBRSTTN’s true vision of expression is being harnessed.
